FIGURATIVE ARTIST JIRI BORSKY TO EXHIBIT AT BAREWALL
An exhibition of original work and recent paintings by Jiri Borsky.One of Staffordshire’s most acclaimed artists, Jiri Borsky will be opening a solo exhibition at the Barewall Gallery on Saturday 19th May until Saturday 2nd June. Jiri Borsky, originally from the Czech Republic has exhibited all over the UK and has collectors worldwide.
The exhibition will show the latest original paintings by the figurative artist, some of which are notably influenced by his passion for music; jazz, folk and classical. Other new work will feature his much admired Lovers. An artist from an early age Jiri still finds he his often influenced from the 14th century Czech Gothic panel paintings that he saw at the national gallery in the Czech Republic.
Jiri moved to England in 1968 following the Soviet invasion and settled in The Potteries, Staffordshire, England. Jiri then studied at The Staffordshire University and graduated in 1979 before becoming a full time artist. Jiri has always been a prolific painter but taking time and care into the completion of his work, including the framing which he hand finishes to great detail.
Barewall Gallery owner Amanda Bromley, 44, said “It is very exciting to have an exhibition focussing on the artwork by Jiri Borsky and the collectors of his work are on the edge of their seats to see what the show will unveil. These are certainly defining times for art in North Staffordshire.”
