MIDLANDS POTTERS SHOWCASE IN MOTHERTOWN


Over 100 pieces of pottery are to go on show as part of a showcase of studio and craft pottery at Burslem based art gallery Barewall. The gallery are hosting 12 selected members of The Midlands Potters Association for their first exhibition in The Potteries for 20 years.

Forming the exhibition will be a mixture of stoneware, earthenware and porcelain ceramics, all individually handcrafted by some of the regions greatest talent in studio pottery.

Established in 1980 The Midlands Potters Association promotes and encourages studio pottery and covers 10 counties with 115 members including honorary member Henry Sandon. Barewall owner Paula Millward, 32, said “It is a superb opportunity to host and work with the Midlands Potters Association and welcome them to Burslem. There is a wonderful line up of potters, each with their own innovative designs and excellent craftsmanship.”

The exhibition starts with a preview evening on Friday 13th 6pm until 8.30pm and runs until Saturday 28th April.
