Culture Secretary to Visit Arthur Berry Exhibition Sept 2016

Arthur Berry exhibition to be visited by The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport end of September

An Exhibition of Unseen Works from Estate of Arthur Berry hosted at The Foxlowe Arts Centre​ in Leek from 1st October to 12th November 2016.

This selection of works from the estate never seen before will be available for sale in the newly painted gallery at The Foxlowe Arts centre in Leek. Visitors will be able to view the works whilst listening to Arthur Berry's voice in the setting of the Georgian Gallery.

The secretary of State Department for Culture, Media and Sport​ will be visiting the exhibition at 2pm on 30th September to open the exhibition for the press pre-view. Culture Secretary Karen Bradley

While Joan Walley​ retired MP of 28 years for Stoke on Trent (North) will be opening the exhibition in the evening at the Foxlowe from 7pm onwards. All welcome.

The exhibition has been arranged by the Barewall Gallery in Burslem, who wanted to raise the already growing awareness of The Potteries born artist, Arthur Berry with the good people of Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire.

Barewall said: "We have found a steady interest in Arthur's work from all over the country building on the exhibition with Lowry earlier this year at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery and since the appraisal on The Antiques Roadshow aired in April where he was tipped as one to collect by expert Dendy Easton previously Head of Sotheby's Picture Department.
