Barewall exhibits with the Staffordshire Chambers at their new Members Room

chamber enos exhibition

Barewall was contacted by Staffordshire Chambers to display original art by locally connected artists in their new members room earlier in 2018.

The room is fitted in a light and airy retro mid century to 1970's style with neutral backdrop and bold coloured statement furniture peices. It provides an open plan space fitting for a relaxing area for business to meet clients, hold team work sessions or single working, with a private meeting room available when required, and the most modern and well designed kitchen facility keeping the business going in the room.

We wanted an exhibition of work that would reflect a bold and positive enviroment with a stricking use of bright colours, that was in keeping with the period. A selection of paintings from Enos Lovatts on paper 1960's seemed perfect.

Mow Cop born Enos Lovatt (b.1937) created this series of work just after he left the Royal College of Art. He was in the same class as David Hockey and Peter Blake. You can see the influences of modern art including cubism and abstraction. Enos is without doubt one of those artists who was producing original works of the day which reflected the cutting edge art movements going on in Britain, but not from London, this was whilst Enos was working back in the Potteries teaching at the Burslem School of Art.

You can view the art work in the members room at The Staffordshire Chamber on Festival Park. Opening times are Mon to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Barewall is also showing a number of works during gallery opening times.

All works are for sale. The shows continue to Jan 26th 2019.
