Titled: Christmas Truce Statue
Originally titled ‘All Together Now’, after the song by The Farm and commemorating the truce between British and German soldiers at Christmas 1914. A permanent bronze cast was gifted to the city of The Christmas Truce, Messines, Flanders in 2015 by Andy and Castle Fine Arts Foundry. The original sculpture was made at Wedgwood, Stoke on Trent, cast into fibreglass and toured Europe starting with it being taken to the original site in No Mans Land and The Menin Gate in 2014, 100 years to the day in honour of the day peace broke out in the midst of the horrific slaughter of WW1. It was exhibited at Cologne Cathedral, The Palace of Versailles, Paris; Wembley Stadium; The National Football Museum, Manchester before being ‘retired’ to the grounds of St Luke's Bombed Out Church in Liverpool.
This quarter scale model is faithful to every detail of the original monument and is available through Barewall Gallery as the original artist’s copy, signed and certificated.
