Lanty Ball (b. 1997)
Award winning British contemporary ceramics designer maker.
Lanty hand makes taking a minimalist approach to form either thrown or slip cast on which he adds surface textures and patterns inspired by the natural world.
Working with porcelain, both glazed and unglazed using contrasting surfaces from smooth to textured. After firing Lanty continues working on each piece by grinding the form to polish the surface to great effect.
After completing his MA in ceramic design at Lancashire in 2016 he was awarded a residency at The Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts, Montana, USA in 2016.
In 2017 selected to collaborate with ECALab (Environmental Ceramics for Architecture Laboratory) to create lighting in ceramics to be exhibited at RIBA North in Liverpool.
Lanty now makes in his studio in Preston exhibiting in ceramic exhibitions across the UK as well stocking galleries across the UK.
