Specialising in abstract expressionist paintings using colour, form, texture creating balanced compositions. The content of the abstract image created may be a familiar landscape, journey, an arrived at place. The painting may respond to feelings from the past at any time or in any situation so really i work with a broad canvas.
Ron's aim is to create work that appeals to our visual senses, balancing form and colour in a way that attracts the viewer's attention, and perhaps holds their gaze long enough to allow them to engage with the painted surface.
Many artists and movements influence Ron Coleman from the Cornish St Ives abstract artists to the Scottish Colourists and even American abstract artists.

He paints mostly acrylic on canvas while using oils for portraiture or small figurative works.
