LB1 Stoneware Pot by Lanty Ball
Hand thrown and decorated studio black stoneware pot with matt glaze turned decoration by Lanty Ball.
His pots are hand thrown and incised or water-eroded surfaces. He often works with parian, a type of unglazed porcelain invented in Britain in the 19th century to imitate the qualities of marble. He also uses a black stoneware clay to create contrasting pieces.
Lanty won the Potclays Emerging Makers Award (International Ceramics Festival, Aberystwyth, 2015) and the Carter Preston Prize (Bluecoat Display Centre, Liverpool, 2016).
