Common Ground Art Catalogue 2018 by Ian Mood
Common Ground Art Catalogue 2018 by Ian Mood.
40 page, full colour brochure with foreword by Michael Howard, author of LS Lowry: A Visionary Artist and Ghislaine Howard: the Human Touch.
The art catalogue was published in 2018 to accompany Ian Mood's solo show at The Burslem School of Art in Stoke on Trent, opening 27th July 2018 to 30th August 2018 titled Common Ground.
It shows his paintings of views around the Potteries where his grandfather, artist Sid Meir had taken photographs, with the aim to paint them. Sadly he didn't get the chance. It's a highly personal reflection of Ian as grandson, tipping a wink to his artist grandfather from adulthood, following in his footsteps, whilst recording a lost Stoke-on-Trent in the now.
As well as being an excellent collection of the then photography and then paintings of local scenes never seen before, it is also a wonderful introduction to Ian Mood, Endon born and his very etheral style of paintings of his home city.
