Part of the collection called Common Ground by Stoke on Trent born artist Ian Mood.
Etruria is a place in Stoke on Trent which came into existence when Josiah Wedgwood moved his factory from Burslem to a location on the newly built Trent and Mersey Canal.
He called the place Etruria after the Etruscian classic shape he made at the opening of his new factory. He also moved his family to Etruria Hall which still exists and now forms part of a hotel in Stoke-on-Trent.
