This is a rectangular shaped print inspired by the industrial heritage of the Potteries . The majestic shapes and architectural features of factories which dominated Stoke on Trent skyline until their decline. Expressed in a vivid palette of colour and outline shapes of the Bottle ovens with a pattern of curved distinctive lines.
My work celebrates the rich heritage and achievements of the people who worked in the Pottery industry, from the designers to the pot-bank workers. My source of inspiration is the majestic shapes of the bottle kilns and the distinctive architectural features of the factory workshops These where at one time a dominant feature of North Staffordshire landscape "The Potteries". My method of work is to combine in a single composition pictorial ingredients from various sources such as drawings, illustrations, prints or photographic images. Working beyond conventional procedures and transformations. Creating distinctive compositions. Regularly exhibiting work from my contemporary portfolio in open exhibitions and art shows in London, Birmingham and the West Midlands has been rewarding. Achieving regional prize winner for Staffordshire/Shropshire. The Weston Park Granary Gallery Open Competition 2014 and other more recent commendations. I studied at Rycotewood College, Bishop Lonsdale College, Derby and Birmingham School of Art Education. Memberships have included Staffordshire Artists, Society of Graphic Artists and Staffordshire Guild of Craftsmen. Member of The Printmakers Council.
