Did you know that Barewall hosts a beautiful interiors mover and shaker in our studio space behind the gallery? Since May 2023 after our refurbishment we have been working with the genius that is Lost + Found Projects to help style interiors across the eras with Barewall helping to curate the artworks to style with L+F beautiful furniture projects.

We thoroughly encourage you to visit to experience our new spaces spread across Barewall's Georgian townhouse and studio to enjoy mid century, vintage, retro and contemporary mixed interior spaces with sustainability in mind.

Iain Archer MA (RCA)

Raised and educated in Stoke-on-Trent, Iain Archer began his design career at The Burslem School of Art where he studied Fashion, and on completing his Degree, won a scholarship to study MA Menswear Design at the prestigious Royal College of Art. On graduating Archer worked in London working for brands such as John Richmond and Boxfresh, and progressed to become Creative Director for several global Street Sport and Fashion brands across New Zealand Australia Japan and America.

In 2015 Archer returned to the UK, to lead a fashion school at The Arts University
Bournemouth, where he developed BA and MA programs in Fashion, Branding
Communication and Digital Innovation, with a focus on sustainable thinking and
ethical practice, and through commercial live projects worked regularly with brands like Vivienne Westwood and Burberry.

In 2022 Archer stepped away from full time education, and after 30 years away
moved back to the area where he established Lost + Found Projects, opening a
working studio and showroom connected to the long established Barewall Art
Gallery.

Archers’ work is now focussed on the re-purposing and blending of salvage fashion, furniture, textiles, homewares, artefacts and curiosities from which he creates bespoke interior, lifestyle and art pieces celebrating the history and stories, creating objects of desire, future heirlooms and interior spaces for private clients, interior design companies, and continues with education and to engage with community projects and exhibitions.
