Lunar Art & Wine with Stephen Colgrave: PUNK from Andy Warhol to Vivienne Westwood tickets now out Jan 31st 2024

Every last Wednesday of the Month Barewall teams up with Lunar Restaurant at the World of Wedgwood in Barlaston to bring a fabulous evening of Art and Wine to North Staffordshire art lovers in the beautiful setting of this very special restaurant opened by Michelin double starred chef Niall Keating.

For 2024, in January we kick off the 1st Lunar Art and Wine Society evening on Wed 31st Jan with Stephen Colegrave delivering his talk alongside his iconic exhibition of 'Punk - From Andy Warhol to Vivienne Westwood.’ photography.

Stephen is an author, curator and co-founder of Byline Times. He co-wrote the best-selling book PUNK. (Cassell) and Inside Music. He helped Leee Black Childers write his biography and has worked with many rock photographers from the 1970s, curating exhibitions in New York, Oslo, London, Liverpool, and most recently Dusselldorf.

In this talk, Stephen will trace the origins of Punk from Andy Warhol to Vivienne Westwood. The story begins in Downtown New York in Warhol's Factory and CBGB where the New York Dolls, The Ramones, Iggy Pop and Debbie Harry all perform and party. It follows Leee Black Childer as he brings his band the Heartbreakers over to Britain on the Anarchy tour with the Sex Pistols and connects New York to the UK. The evening will shine a light on the creativity, craziness and impact of Punk that still casts a shadow today.

To accompany this, there will be an exhibition of rock photography bringing to life the story visually from the most famous photographers of the day, along with a selection of small, signed pictures for sale for this evening especially.
