STOKE CLAY COLLEGE Fundraising now open

Barewall gallery is based in Burslem the Mothertown of British ceramics. For hundreds of years potters have been thowing at the wheel, experimenting with firing and designing glazes and decoration on hand moulded clay forms, so you will be pleased to know we keep the pottery tradition going by providing a platform for studio pottery and hand painted art pottery from our gallery in Burslem, Stoke on Trent which is also a stop off on the Stoke on Trent Tourism Ceramics Trial.

In keeping with this Barewall is delighted to be able to help support the Clay College Appeal which aims to open at Middleport Pottery in Sept 2017

Here is a wonderful message from Lisa Hammond MBE, on the day the initial fundraising support, also please watch the short video to help see why master potters are doing this:

Dear Friends, Students, Collectors and Colleagues

As I am sure many of you know, I have been running the Adopt a Potter Charity since 2009. For the last two years I have been working on a project to set up a college to train future studio potters. If you feel there is any way that you can support us with a donation, we will be eternally grateful. You will find more information on these websites:

ADOPT A POTTER Charitable Trust is launching our Crowdfunder today, in order to raise £20,000 towards the £200,000 total needed to open CLAY COLLEGE STOKE, a not for profit, independent training college set up by potters for the new generation of students.

Please dig deep and help us reach our target by donating, taking up one of the many rewards and by sharing it as far and wide as possible on social media and word of mouth. Be part of the future of Studio Pottery.

Many thanks for your support,

Lisa Hammond MBE and chair of Adopt a Potter

After a busy summer and autumn, we are delighted to share with you a new film which tells you more about Clay College Stoke.
