Signed and dated 1993 to front and back.
Framed in original frame which has been hand painted to match the colour of painting. Includes labels to the back from Bankside Gallery in London.
The label usefully describes the technique to be Body Colour which is achieved by using opaque colours for highlighting in the painting or for capturing dense, flat areas essentially it is a watercolour with opaque paint colour applied.
The Bankside Gallery is home to the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) of which Arthur Hackney was an elected member.
Littlehampton is an English coastal town and resort located in Sussex, in the South East of the UK. It sits on the English Chanel and on banks of a the River Arun.
The painting is in excellent condition and it is ready to hang.
