This painting is from the archive collection of Geoffrey Wynne. Painted whilst in Stoke-on-Trent during the 80's it shows the working class sport of whippet racing, a scene where the race is underway with dogs stretching to cross the finishing line and th crowd heads in the foreground. It is painted in quite a futurist why. the race may well have been inspired by trips to Cobridge Greyhound Stadium, which closed in 1990.
