A one-of-a-kind commemorative ceramic plaque by Stoke-on-Trent artist Philip Hardaker, created especially for the city's 2025 centenary celebrations — marking 100 years since Stoke-on-Trent was granted city status.
The plaque features bold word art — STOKE ON TRENT Centenary 2025 — surrounded by border stars and flowers, with fine details imprinted into the background. Coloured in red, yellow, blue and green, it is set into a reclaimed bevelled wooden frame saved from landfill and infilled with broken blue and white Japanese anemone ceramic shards — a signature material in Hardaker's practice.
Made at the artist's Packmoor studio in Stoke-on-Trent in 2026, this piece is both a collector's artwork and a piece of living local history. It can be displayed on a tabletop or hung on the wall.
