Published on the occasion of the exhibition Lowry and the Painting of Modern Life at Tate Britain in 25 June - 20 Oct 2013.

British painter LS Lowry (1887-1976) was unique among known British artists of the time making the industrial urban landscape the main tenant of his work, it goes on to claim that without LS Lowry paintings, Britain would not have an artist account of the experiences of the industrial working class of Britain.
