Robert Colquhuon and Robert MacBryde The Two Roberts 2014 art exhibition poster from the 2014 art exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery, Glasgow, Scotland.

These artists were lovers and collaborators. They worked and played together and were famous as centre of the bohemian drinking culture in Fritzrovia, Soho in London during the war years.

Barewall included this poster to show you the circle of Potteries artist Arthur Berry. The Two Roberts were tremendous and important friends of Arthur Berry. Arthur shared the same house, an artist commune at 77 Bedford Gardens, Notting Hill, London with them and John Minton in the 1940s. They remained great friends of Arthur Berry throughout their short lives.

Notice the work has a similarity and no doubt the Roberts influenced another Potteries painter John Shelton who also lived with Arthur Berry for a time in London and shared some of their times together with the Two Roberts.
