In May 1930 the Stoke-on-Trent Historical Pageant took place, it was also the 200 year anniversary celebration of Josiah Wedgwood.

It was the largest live event ever performed in the Potteries with 5000 performers an 100 strong Orchestra and a 500 person Chorus.

This DVD is a restored version of the complete official film of the Stoke-on-Trent historical Pageant. It was first shown at the Regent Cinema in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

The programme for the screening included the following description of the Pageant:

"The Pageant attempts to portray vividly with all the help of colour, spectacle, drama and music, the scenes of the glorious Past to the Present generation… Visitors from far and near will all be kindled with admiration and praise for the proud Heritage of the Potteries."

The film has been restored and produced by Ray Johnson of Staffordshire Film Archive with original music performed and written by Peter Young.
