The Peak District is rich in old monument crosses, including market place crosses, directions way-side crosses and religious crosses. Many are what remains of former large structures and a incredible number of tall sized crosses still survive. The decoration carvings on some of the crosses is considered to be hugely important, even if the remaining detail is only a smaller part of a much larger detail workings. This volume is brings together all the known survivors along with details of their location and history. It features approximately 180 crosses scatters across the region.
