Smoke Stoke (Graphite) is an original mixed media by Arthur Berry titled Smoke Stoke (Graphite).

Black and white charcoal and pencil on paper by Arthur Berry.

This drawing on paper depicts the skyline of the Potteries, Berry may have been thinking back to the sky was full of smoke from the bottle kilns that would have been used with coal firings. He brings the picture up to its 1960s period with the outline of what may be a more modern concrete fence or perhaps a line of garages or houses in the foreground which either way gives a feeling of containment in the picture.
