Small White Porcelain Trinket Bowl by Alex Shimwell (2024)
A delicate hand-thrown white porcelain trinket bowl by Derbyshire-based potter Alex Shimwell, made in 2024. The bowl features a beautifully executed asymmetric ring sgraffito decoration — a technique in which lines are incised through the surface to reveal the clay beneath, creating a subtle, tactile pattern that catches the light.
Compact and refined, this piece works equally well as a jewellery dish, a desk object, or a quiet decorative accent on a shelf or windowsill.

Alex Shimwell began potting in the early 2000s in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, taught by master potter Kevin Millward. He now works from his studio in Derbyshire, producing a small, considered body of work in the British studio ceramics tradition.
Each piece is unique — surface markings will vary slightly.
