Small Blue on Chocolate Stoneware Side-Fired Round Pots with Shells by Alex Shimwell (2024)
A series of small hand-thrown round stoneware pots by Derbyshire-based potter Alex Shimwell, made in 2024. Each pot features a rich Temuku chocolate matt glaze body, with placed shells and a side-fired Nuka glaze that shifts from blue to green — a technique that produces a dramatic, atmospheric surface unique to each piece.
Compact and beautifully tactile, these pots make a striking decorative statement on a table, shelf, or windowsill. Each carries Alex's distinctive maker's mark.

Shell placement and glaze surfaces vary between pieces — each pot is entirely unique.
