We have buyers who are looking for artwork by certain British artists including: Ofili, Emin, Hirst, or Peter Doig (or similar British artists). These artists are from the movement called Young British Artists (YBA) which came about in the 1990's.

They were those artists often straight out of art college collected by Charles Satchi for his Satchi art Gallery which opened at the time in London. He backed them and they became huge. An exhibition at the time toured the works around the world called Sensation in 1997 to massive publicity and scandal. The show included works by artists:

Damian Hurst, Tracy Emin, Marc Quinn, Jake and Dinos Chapman (The Chapman Brothers), Marcus Harvey, Chris Ofili, Adam Chodzko, Mat Collishaw, Michael Landy, Abigail Lane, Sarah Lucas, Ron Mueck, Richard Patterson, Simon Patterson, Fiona Rae, Jenny Saville, Sam Taylor-Wood, Gavin Turk, Gillian Wearing, Rachel Whiteread and Yinka Shonibare

Barewall founder Amanda Bromley was in New York at the time and visited Sensation at Brooklyn in 1999. "I remember the uproar and shock it created, leading to the then mayor of New York to withdraw funding to the Brooklyn Museum and Art Gallery. The mayor was none other than the ultra conservative and Donald Trump right hand man Rudolph Giuliani."
