Painted circa 1920s when Arthur visited the continent. The reverse is titled "Near Luxembourg Gallery", which may relate to The Musée du Luxembourg which is located within the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, France.
Knighton Hammond, no doubt attracted to the impressionistic style, light and interest offered by the impressionists which included his tutor when at Manchester Art School, the famous Adolphe Valette, who is also known as the tutor to LS Lowry.
Signed faintly to the front of the painting.
