Artist Frederick Marriott was life long friends with Arnold Bennett and was originally born in Stoke-upon-Trent. Bennett lodged with Marriott on his early arrival in London and where they were able to enjoy the friendship of many famous artists of the day including the Pre-Raphaelites.
