It shows a frozen bright morning at a railway station with play of trees, telegraph poles and tracks disaapearing into the bright sunrise morning offering a beautiful vanishing point to focus on. night lit by streetlights and terrace windows with misty hint of city high rises in the distance. A woman with umbrella crosses the road in a terrace street. A beautiful rendition of a frosty frozen morning with a waiting figure. The station buildings and platform sit above typical of the Victorian architecture found across the Northern Railway buildings.
This painting was given the name of Dinting Station which is in Glossop. At the time Lucy was thinking about the great Northern industrial landscape painter LS Lowry, as this was painted near to an anniversary of his death in Glossop.
