The Shady Scholar - Circular Stained Glass Owl Panel by Rebecca Davis
The Shady Scholar is a one-of-a-kind circular stained glass owl panel by Stoke-on-Trent artist Rebecca Davis. Made from six panes of reclaimed antique English Art Deco glass, this original leaded artwork features a hand-painted, mid-century-style owl standing on a pile of books.
The owl sits within a nocturnal landscape of seed heads, leaves, flowers and a tree beneath a moonlit sky. Traditional hand-leading and hand-painted sgraffito bring together salvaged glass and an illustration full of character, making this an individual piece for an owl enthusiast, book lover or collector of British glass art.
The panel hangs from a chain and is ready to display. Place it in a window to catch the light, or backlight it with fairy lights to bring out the glass and painted details.
