This painting would have been created when Gordon was principal at Burslem School of Art, Stoke on Trent.
It is also interesting that Gordon Forsyth's daughter Moira Forsyth, a glass and ceramic artist was commissioned to make one of the stained glass windows at Norwich Cathedral, this commission was completed in 1963. It shows a long standing connection to Norwich and Norfolk for the Forsyth family.
