Artist Spotlight : Paine Proffitt (b. 1972)
Our Artist Spotlight this time celebrates Paine Proffitt (b. 1972), the award-winning sports artist whose paintings and prints celebrate the unique heritage of teams, fans and club history.
Paine has worked with Barewall since the gallery's earliest days. His art for the clubs closest to our Burslem gallery includes Port Vale and Stoke City, and his football programme cover work has included West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, Aberdeen, with guest covers for England, Brentford and West Ham.
Paine has also served as a UK sporting ambassador for Sporting Heritage.

Beyond the Pitch: Clay Dust
Paine's work reaches far beyond football. His Clay Dust series turns to the Potteries itself: potbanks and smokestacks, Middleport Pottery, board carriers and potbank girls, and even the humble oatcake. These warm, characterful scenes of Stoke-on-Trent life are available at Barewall as originals and signed limited edition prints.
