Peter Davis MAFA is an award-winning painter, based in Cheshire. He is well known for his compositions that depict people absorbed in their personal technology and his beautifully observed paintings capture contemporary life.
He is currently working on a series of paintings, exclusively for Barewall, which look at the people and the urban landscape in and around the six towns. Peter is a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA) and the Contemporary British Portrait Painters (CBPP). He has won numerous professional painting prizes, including being selected for the John Moores Painting Prize 2020, the UK’s most prestigious painting prize.
He has also been a prizewinner in the Three Counties Open: winning First Prize in 2017 and the Burslem School of Art Prize in this year’s competition. Peter says: “It’s really exciting to be working with Barewall on these brand new urban realist paintings of the Potteries. These are stories of our time and place, of people going about their everyday lives, technology in hand.”
