An original pen and ink drawing of Biddulph Grange by acclaimed British artist Peter Davis — executed on a reclaimed National Trust paper bag as part of his celebrated ‘Bagsy’ series of urban sketches on upcycled bags.
Peter Davis explains the concept: “The idea for these ‘Bagsy’ urban sketches came about after I noticed the words ‘Please Recycle Me’ on paper shopping bags. The original drawings on upcycled bags are becoming very collected.”
By working directly onto reclaimed retail bags, Davis connects sustainability with fine art — each piece a one-off original that can never be replicated. This work was exhibited and sold at the World of Wedgwood Future Fest sustainability event with Barewall Art Gallery, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
